Clebran is a Barnardo's service for disabled children and young people aged between 12 and 25 in Gwynedd to voice their opinions on the services they use. Clebran meet every month usually on a Saturday in the Arfon, Dwyfor or Meirionydd area. We use venues such as the local Leisure Centre or Community Hall.
During our general meetings we give the group time to talk about themselves and what news they may want to share. If there are issues on which we may be able to help with e.g. education, support services or transport. We often have different agencies such as Children in Wales, Gwynedd Council and Funky Dragon to come to talk and consult with the group. The children and young people have fun, have the opportunity to meet new people and are able to have an influence on the services that they use for the better. Clebran opens doors for disabled young people and helps develop their skills.
Clebran also have their own committee group which meets regularly, these meetings are for young people aged over 18. During these meetings we look over Clywed reports which Clebran feed into and use this time to concentrate on any main topics or plans for the group which can be discussed.
